Pandura Winds performing

Formed in Cardiff, Pandura Winds met at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where they developed their shared interest in contemporary chamber music.

Formed in February 2026 by flautist Harry Linegar, clarinettist Alvaro Hurtado, bassoonist Svetlana Nanda, Pandura Winds is a UK-based chamber wind ensemble that has rapidly become well known for their dedication to contemporary music and innovative programming.

Shortly after its formation, Pandura Winds was awarded the 2026 RWCMD Wind Plus Chamber Prize for their exhilarating performance of Valerie Coleman’s Rubispheres, awarded by internationally renowned oboist Celia Craig.

Pandura Winds has benefited from masterclasses with leading performers including pianist Catherine Milledge, clarinettist Robert Plane, and flautist Sarah Bennington, whose coaching has supported the group’s development.

Looking ahead, the ensemble continues to focus on expanding the wind trio repertoire through collaborations with living composers, with a particular emphasis on contemporary works and cross-disciplinary projects.
